PINK BAG CLUB UPDATE FOR FEBRUARY 2024

Happy New Year to one and all and welcome back for 2024 to those members who participated in the Pink Bag Club (PBC) last year and welcome to our new members.

Last year we achieved an amazing goal by donating $12,500.00, thus exceeding over $100,000.00 in donations to Prostate Cancer Research raised since 2006, the current total is $103,000.00. So well done everyone and let’s try and do that again this year.

I would like to thank everyone who contributed to the cause either by joining the PBC and paying their member fee, by paying their fines or just giving during the year.

I would especially like to thank our major sponsors, TPS and Dickensons and I look forward to your continuing support this year.

I would also like to welcome a new sponsor for 2024 , Top Gun Project Services. Thank you for coming on board and I look forward to a successful year.

Without your support we would not reach the goals we set.

I finally have a picture of our 2023 winner, congratulations again Clint Osborne.

A reminder that the membership fee of $20.00 for 2024 is due and you can pay me any Wednesday or Saturday at the club or see the staff in the pro shop and give it to them to pass on to me. At the end of February I will remove the names from the board of anyone who hasn’t paid.

Shown below is the design for the 2024 Pink Bag Club shirt, an important part of our fundraising. Due to a supply hiccup they won’t be arriving until early April. I have ordered a small number to see how they go and will take orders once they arrive and cost TBA.

Finally a reminder of the few rules of the PBC:

(Note: I have been lenient since the 10th of January on some fines, this stops this Wednesday)

Rule 1: ALWAYS ensure you put your score on the Pink Bag Board when you play on a Wednesday or Saturday!!! Failure to do so for any reason other than a Medical or emergency withdrawal will result in a $20.00 fine. (Don’t rely on someone else doing it for you)

Rule 2: All players with the lowest score on a Pink Bag Day , “win” the Pink Bag for that day and are awarded: a $10.00 fine each.

Rule 3: The PBC Member who accrues the most pink bags during the year, wins the Pink Jacket for the season and is the Pink Bag Annual Winner.

Rule 4: THE JUDGES DECISION IS FINAL.  Oh, and ……I’m the Judge!!!

So let’s remember that we are in the Pink Bag Club  to raise much needed funds to help fund the research into treating and maybe one day eradicating Prostate Cancer.

See you all on the course and Good Golfing.
