Members please note that the upcoming Annual General Meeting for the year ended 30 September 2023 to be held on Tuesday 12 December will see a Special Resolution where the members will be asked to adopt a new Constitution. While there has been quite a bit of information to digest over the last month or so, we now provide the Final or “For Adoption” Constitution. Members should note that this is the idenitical version that was presented prior as “Draft”.

Carbrook Golf Club – Constitution (For Adoption)

Importantly the AGM will be a vote by those members eligible to vote (7 Day, Corporate and Life). The purpose of the meeting is not to go through the proposed changes in detail. It is expected that those members voting have gained an understanding of the proposed constitution over the last month during the information, education and feedback period. Members will just be asked to vote for the adoption of this new Constitution in its entirety.

What are the major changes proposed?
While summarising the proposed changes in detail can be understood by reading the Covering Note to the Changes or by viewing the videos below, where the Members Information session was recorded, the key major changes relate to:

  • To extend VOTING RIGHTS to include 5 & 6 Day members
  • To extend BOARD ELIGIBILITY to include 5 & 6 Day members.

Note – Currently only 7 Day, Corporate and Life members have a vote at Annual and Special General Meetings and are eligible to be on the Board of Directors.

Why are these changes proposed?
Please view the Pros and Cons document that was developed by the Club’s Constitutional Review Working Group when considering this decision.
