Round 1 of the 2019 Carbrook Club Championships saw players face some extremely tough conditions.

The morning field had the unusual feeling of playing in the wind as the breeze got up nice and early and hung around for most of the day. The wind, coupled with the normal firm and fast greens made for a tough day of scoring for most, however there were a few that relished the conditions.

A Grade is shaping up to be a competitive one this year with 20 players within 5 shots of the lead. The lead belongs to Richard Berry after a fine score of 75.

B Grade saw Adrian McShane and Mal Thompson both play fantastic rounds of golf,. however it is McShane who leads by 2 after a superb 78.

C Grade is also looking to be very competitive with 29 players within 10 shots of the lead, and as we all know, anything can happen over 3 rounds. The lead currently belongs to Frank Ford, the 2018 Champion

The Ladies Championship sees new contenders Susan Veitch and Angie Salmon atop the leaderboard with a score of 93 with Sandra Cheeseman 1 shot behind, meanwhile pre-tournament favourite, Melissa Mason a shot further back after battling back from a tough start.
