This month I have begun recording my reports so I look forward to hearing what you think. It hopefully will be a fresh new way to convey what is going on around the Club, but for those of you who prefer a read, this is for you….

Rainfall

We have had a very wet March which is in fact the 2nd wettest March in the last 8 years. The interesting thing is that year to date we are well behind average with approximately half the usual rainfall. It should set us up for Winter as long as we don’t get too much more.

Junior Program of the Year Award

We were very fortunate to be recognised recently at the 2019 Qld Industry Awards at Royal Pines winning the 2018 Qld Junior Program of the Year. It was great recognition of the hard work and success we have had in the space however we have a lot further to go to and bi plans for this area.

Qld Boys and Girls Amateur 1-5 July

Golf Australia has confirmed Carbrook as host of this prestigious event that was won by our own Head Professional way back in the 1930s… 😉

It will be a treat to see the best Boys and Girls in the country at Carbrook and we are very excited about the prospect. We will be arranging some alternative Clubs that week for our members – watch this space.

Super 12s Inaugural Event

We had a great event last Friday with the inaugural Super 12s event combining Four-Ball, Foursomes and Ambrose into 12 holes. We love to try new events and this was a resounding success and won’t be the last one. Thanks to all that came and played and look out for future events like this.

Easter – Good Friday – Clubhouse Closed

Just a reminder that the course will be open on Good Friday from 7am to 11am tee times. The Clubhouse will be closed however (although the toilets will be open).

Hope you spend some time with your family over this Easter especially if you have little ones.

9th Hole Work being planned

We are currently looking at a project to deal with the low lying area on the 9th hole. This has been in planning for some time and we are close to being able to start this project. I know this is an area that frustrates everyone including me and we are working towards a long term solution.

Corporate Golf Season will be busy from May onwards – Fridays

We have a very busy Corporate and Charity Golf Season ahead and May is particularly busy. I just encourage you to keep an eye on the timesheets on Fridays if you are looking for a game. The additional income for the Club is welcome and we seem to be more popular than ever this year.

That’s it from me. I’ll be enjoying some time off this week with the family and I look forward to seeing you around the Club over the coming weeks.
